We’re excited to announce a new partnership between the eXtensible Catalog and Nylink!  In the coming months, Nylink staff will begin offering web-based training for the XC software toolkits, especially for the XC Metadata Services Toolkit (MST).

UNC-C partners with XC

We are very happy to report that the University of North Carolina – Charlotte is partnering with XC to work on integrating XC with the Innovative Interfaces Millenium ILS. Through collaboration with both UNC-C and RIT, we will be able to offer integration options for several different III implementations. Once these are finalized and tested, this work will be included in the code and documentation download section on our Google code repository. Welcome aboard UNC-C.

Issue trackers to monitor XC development

We have had a couple of inquiries recently about what is going on with XC. First, if there are ever any questions, please contact us. Contact info can be found at the bottom of each page of the website. Additionally, three software components use Google code as a code repository and one uses Drupal. We are actively using the Google code issue trackers to capture all our enhancements and bugs for OAI, NCIP and Metadata Services Toolkits.

We thank the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and our user research partners – Cornell, Ohio State, Yale and the University of Rochester – for their generous support of this project.

eXtensible Catalog software availability

The XC team is currently in the final stages of making the XC software available. The XC OAI Toolkit and the XC NCIP Toolkit are currently being readied for release under the MIT License (http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php). Development and functionality enhancement will continue on these toolkits after release, but new development will take place on a publicly accessible code repository.
