We’re delighted to report that the CARLI Consortium and the University of North Carolina/Charlotte have agreed to join the University of Rochester as Founders of the eXtensible Catalog Organization (XCO)! The XCO Founders will be announcing the launch of this new not-for-profit organization in early 2010. The XCO’s mission is to maintain and improve XC software, provide guidance and future direction for XC, and foster a community of users and developers around XC. Thank you to Susan Singleton and everyone at CARLI; and to Stanley Wilder and his staff at UNCC for being willing to be among the first XCO Founders!
Look for an official announcement about the launch of the XCO in January. If your library or organization might be interested in joining us as an XCO Founder, please contact me (or anyone on the XC Leadership Team) for additional information.
